The archive linked here is the easiest way to read Russet. But it’s the Twitter “140 characers or less” format that is the artistic challenge/opportunity. It creates a massive compression of information. There are about 20 pages of actual text. If it was a conventional novel, it’d be 60-80 pages so far, I think. Or more. The plot is a complete surprise to me and I think it is kind of amazing.

I’m enjoying Russet too, but keep missing bits on twitter, so I have to go back to the blog to keep up. I guess that’s the risk with a twitter novel – unless you’re on twitter 24/7, you risk missing bits. But it’s still fun reading it in small chunks on the blog as it unfolds.

I’m also reading with the assumption that you’re essentially writing it as you go, and that’s a fun way to read something.

I hope you like it as much as you did the first one. I am writing the third one now, just getting it off the ground…

If you ever read Russet’s story, I would love to know what you think. It has been an amazing experiment…
