  2. gizo says:

kymbo likes the old font better – the all-caps, circa 27th May 7:57pm…

  3. bookboy says:

Bugger. Should I have a poll? Does she like it better by a lot, or only by a bit?

Do you like my rss linky bits?

  4. jag says:

just testing the subscribe to comments plugin

  5. gizo says:

mang, those subscribe buttons are, um, large..

kudos on the amazon affiliates..was going to recommend you get on board that train…

  6. bookboy says:

maybe I’ll shrink the feed button. LibraryThing widget automatically links to amazon with librarything associate code if I don’t put mine in

  7. gizo says:

The hover background-color on the nav items is a bit, erm, white.

I’d recommend subtling it up a bit, or removing altogether (may need to change to match background colour, if they inherit background-colour from another li, or a or something)

hey bookboy, i’m with kymbo and gizo on this one – it’s a little too white here, and the old font was beautiful. buttons are scarily large too

having said all that, congrats on the move! hope you’ll be happy in the new location…

  9. vetti says:

i liked the font on yer other site – not being v clear am i? long day…

  10. bookboy says:

    Thanks for the feedback Vetti.

I’m going to make some more subtle rss links.

The font Kym liked was an earlier version of the bookboy.net header, a different font again to the old site. I think I got tired of font on the old site pretty quickly, maybe it was just me.

As for it being so white, I hadn’t thought about that. I fixed the bit of white Gizo talked about, but there is a lot of white space on the page too, especially if you run a wide browser window. I don;t want to clutter it too much though.

Or did you mean use a different colour for the background, or maybe fill in the sides with a solid colour?
